The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 49.3% of life, physical, and social science occupations, including biological scientists are women. In contrast, only 2.5% of pest control workers are women. We are seeing more women in academic urban entomology positions, but our stakeholder group is overwhelmingly white men. How do #nastywomen deal with #nastybugs and increase IPM adoption? How to become a #nastywoman and be effective in urban entomology will be covered.
