Begomoviruses are transmitted by their vector – sweet potato whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) in a circulative persistent manner. Upon virus acquisition and its circulative translocation in the whitefly, a lot of unknown molecular interaction occur. In this study, we investigate the transcriptome-level responses associated with various begomoviruses following acquisition in two B. tabaci species. Methods, results and implications of the study shall be discussed in the meeting.
