Invasive species are a global issue, with an annual cost of nearly $27 billion. As globalization continues to proliferate the amount of goods moved around the world, increases in invasive species issues is expected. Regardless of specialty, Early Career Entomologists will face unique challenges as invasive species are and will continue to be an issue, and climate change will further impact our economy and environment. For insects inhabiting woody plant species, climate change can mean increased generation times, new hosts, and altered life cycles. This talk will discuss the impacts of climate change on invasive species biology, ecology, and management, with an emphasis on wood-inhabiting insects.
