Population fluctuation of mealybugs and their association with ants were observed during the years of 2019-2020 in different vineyards in Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. The population was monitored by using a 5-minute sampling method on the site and recording the trap capture data. According to the samplings done in vineyards throughout 2 years, the population started appearing in the vines in the third week of April and reached its peak during June-July. Only two species of mealybugs were recorded during the field season. The male trap capture data only signified the presence of male mealybugs in the vineyards. The male mealybug capture data has sometimes been null even though we were able to capture the adult males on the vines.
