The Redbanded Stink Bug, Piezodorus guildinii Westwood (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae) is an important arthropod pest of cultivated and non-cultivated wild plants. Redbanded stink bugs (RSBs) feed mostly on flowers and fruits of plants and causing damage to soybeans and other economic leguminous crops. RSBs are less susceptible to commonly used agrochemicals compared to other stink bug species complex. Management strategies to reduce the damage and minimize potential spread to new areas include cultural, mechanical, and physical control such as early-season planting, trap crops. In addition, host plant resistance, chemical control- synthetic insecticides, biological control-parasitoids, predators. Other important prospective integrated management approaches include intercropping, crop rotation, mulching, creating barriers, hand removal, trapping, practicing proper planting techniques, habitat management, horticultural products and soaps, fungal biopesticides, pest-resistant plant varieties developed by classical plant breeding, molecular tools, and techniques to identify odor binding proteins, genetically engineered pest resistance, identification of species-specific semiochemicals as a management tool. Enacting and implementing regulatory policies and controls to reduce geographical expansion and limit the invasion into new areas.
