Foxo is a transcription factor that is controlled by insulin signaling pathway. Through this signal, diapause of various insects is regulated. Insect diapause is also a complex phenotype characterized by a suspended development, suppressed metabolism, and increased defense mechanisms. However, it is not well known exactly which target genes of Foxo transcription factor are associated with this complex trait. Recently, we have found about 10 target genes of Foxo through a variety of functional genomics tools. It was shown which phenotype these genes were involved in among the complex diapause phenotype.
