Electronic monitoring traps (EMTs) allow for remote detection of row crop pests, streamlining the flow of data from the field to the end user. The rise in new EMT products entering the market suggests a shift in the agricultural industry towards technological solutions for pest issues. But how do these new traps compare to conventional trapping solutions and where may they best fit in a changing agricultural landscape? In this talk we discuss the current state of EMTs, their limitations, and possible future.
