Arthropod diversity within peach orchards in the Southeastern region of the United States

Arthropod diversity within peach orchards in the Southeastern region of the United States is not well studied. Having a better understanding of arthropod communities in peach orchards and their surrounding ecosystem can provide invaluable insight when developing integrated pest management protocols.  We conducted a study to broaden the knowledge base in this area by using white sticky cards placed on the interior and exterior of two peach orchards located in Peach County, GA. One of the orchards is a commercial field, while the other field is a research plot located at the Fort Valley Research Farm. Approximately 50 sticky cards were placed on large wooden stakes on September 3rd and were allowed to remain there for a week. The stakes were replaced after this time, resulting in two weeks of data with the final collection date of September 17th. The results will be discussed during the presentation.
