Hypotheses of evolutionary and biogeographic patterns rely upon accurate estimates of species diversity. The subfamily Scelioninae is particularly rich in species in the tropics, and this work is a contribution to better understanding the composition and distribution of its species. Dichoteleas Kieffer (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) was described in 1907 and currently includes five described species from Australia, Madagascar, and India. Four of these were described on the basis of a single sex and none were described from than five specimens. Through the analysis of morphological characters across 108 specimens, ten species are recognized, six of which are new species. Dichoteleas pappi Szabó is hypothesized to be a junior synonym of D. rugosus Kieffer.
