Trees were assessed for vulnerability to colonization by ambrosia beetles at various stages of seasonal development. Trees were flood stressed for 3 or 7 days in early spring, late spring, and mid-summer 2021, then colonization by ambrosia beetles was evaluated. For evaluation, trees were cut 14 days after flooding was terminated on 7-day trees, then dissected to determine colonization. Furthermore, a set of trees from each seasonal timing were flooded for 3 or 7 days and maintained through autumn to determine long-term effects of ambrosia beetle colonization and flooding. Results will be presented.
